Verda Jensen Daw, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away on September 24, 2014, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community.
She was born on August 26, 1919, in Basalt, Idaho to Rulon M. Jensen and Mary Ellen Singleton Jensen. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Firth High School. She later received training as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
On January 12, 1937, she married Albert Earl Daw in Basalt, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 13, 1939. Verda and Albert moved to Osgood in 1943, where they settled and raised a family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, worked on the family farm and as an accountant at LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings as well as several church missions including Columbus, Ohio and Family History Centers in Salt Lake City and Idaho Falls. She enjoyed doing family histories, quilting, making blankets, crocheting, cooking, gardening, and especially enjoyed time spent with her family.

Son: Terry B. (Adele) Daw, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Rick J. (Rebecca) Daw, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Jenell D. (Clark) Brimhall, Sandy, UT
31 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, A. Maurice “Buddy” Daw and David L. Daw; three brothers, Thain Jensen, Merle Jensen, and Ronald Jensen; and one sister, Venice Jensen.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Lincoln Court and Onesource Home Health and Hospice for their kind and loving care.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014, at Osgood LDS Ward (7940 North 35th West). The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery. .
