Click Here To View Memorial Video Vera Robison Stickley, 91 of Idaho Falls passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at The Gables of Ammon. Vera was born January 26, 1923 in Albany, New York to Ernest Robison and Rena Gardner Robison. Her family moved to Rensselaer, NY. She attended school in Rensselaer and Scarsdale, N.Y.. She received a scholarship to The School of Professional Arts in New York City. She spent her summers in the south, in Hope, AR and Marietta, OK. On July 4, 1946 Vera married Thomas H. Stickley in Rensselaer, N.Y.. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1949 where Tom was employed by The Atomic Energy Commission as an Engineer. From this union they were blessed with 4 children, Dan, Sharon, John and Tim. Vera had a career as a Draftsman in two electric companies in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. and Schenectady, N.Y.. She painted for greeting card companies in the state of New York. She also did ‘fine art’ and ‘commercial art’ for the Post Register for over 10 years. She was a life long member of the Eagle Rock Art Guild where she participated and in many art exhibits. Vera was a past president of the Art Guild. She was instrumental in starting the Sidewalk Art Show, now held along the Greenbelt. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Stickley son, Dan D. Stickley of Boise, ID daughter, Sharon Stickley of Idaho Falls, ID son, John (Lynne) Stickley of Idaho Falls, ID son, Tim (Louise) Stickley of Huntsville, AL. grandchildren, Abbey Ward, David D. Stickley, Arron Schow, Tiniel Williams, Tom Stickley, Tyler Stickley and Aaron Stickley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Rena and a brother Ernest M. “Robbie” Robison Jr.. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
