Venice Gayle Croft Whitehead, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, at The Gables Senior Living in Ammon.
Venice was born January 12, 1940, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Eldon Thornton Croft and Elma Moss Croft. She attended Iona Elementary School and graduated from Bonneville High School.
On October 24, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart, Larry Boyd Whitehead, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they raised five children. Venice was a mother and homemaker. She also worked at U&I Sugar, the Skyview Drive-In, and drove bus for School District #93.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Girls Camp Director, church librarian, and Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing, the outdoors, and farming with her dad.

19 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren;
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elma, her father, Eldon, and her husband, Larry.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 13, 2012, at the Iona LDS Church located at 4707 East Iona Road, with Bishop Randon Anderson of the Iona 3rd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
