Velta Lee Davis, 94, of Saint Anthony, passed away September 14, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice and her loving family.
Velta was born February 15, 1930, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Clarence Ira Cope and Lydia Meta Loebsack Cope. She grew up and attended schools in Hamer, ID. She graduated from Hamer High School.
On October 18, 1947, she married Glenn D. Davis in Wilford, Idaho. Velta and Glenn made their home in Saint Anthony.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening, temple ordinance work, family matriarch, genealogy name extraction, and jig saw puzzles.
Velta is survived by her son, Neal R. Davis of Wilford, ID; son, Ralph C. (Brenda)Davis of Wilford, ID; son, Clifton D. (Becky) Davis of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kathleen (Craig) Nelson of Morgan, UT; son, Matthew J. (Debbie) Davis of Ashton, ID; 23 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn D. Davis; daughter, Marie Davis; father, Clarence Ira Cope; mother, Lydia Meta Cope; brother, Leonard George Cope; son, Cole G. Davis; grandson, Jefferson Glenn Davis; and brother, Kenneth Raymond Cope.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Wilford 1st Ward, 215 N. 2400 E. in St. Anthony. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. prior, both times at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
