Velda Smith

VELDA SMITH IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Velda Faye Slaybaugh Smith, 94, of Irwin, passed away July 25, 2009, at Idaho Falls Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 8, 1915, in Santa Barbara, California, to James Salybaugh and Mary Delilah Brown Slaybaugh. She married Arnold B. Smith in 1964 in California. He preceded her in death. Velda opened her own accounting business in the 1950's and ran it for 30 years. She was a member of the Professional Business Women’s Association in California. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, reading. Survivors include: Son: Marc (Chris)Weimar, Irwin, ID Son: Dick Wiley, Los Alamos, New Mexico Daughter: Gloria McCullough, Sacramento. CA Daughter: Patricia Partida, West Covina, CA 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Swan Valley LDS Church (3109 Swan Valley) with Bishop Douglas Martin officiating. Graveside services and inurnment will be at a later date in Santa Barbara, California.
