Velda Kirkham

Velda Darlene Kirkham, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 4, 2015, at home. Darlene was born August 23, 1934, in Poplar, Idaho, to Alfonzo and Nellie Rae Nebel Reading. She grew up and attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School. She married Bob Adams in 1953. To this union were born five children: Mark, Mike, Linda, Sally, and Judy. Darlene and Bob made their home in Ririe, where Darlene worked as a homemaker. Darlene later married Gordon Kirham. The couple resided in Ashton until Gordon passed away in October 1985. Darlene enjoyed dancing, making crafts, and her dog, Rosie. Darlene is survived by her son, Mark Adams and Diane Farrell of Rock Springs, WY; son, Mike (Nita) Adams of Ririe, ID; daughter, Linda Adams of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Sally Martindale of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Judy Adams of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Max (Kathy) Reading of Murray, UT; brother, David (Cherie) Reading of Idaho Falls, ID; family friend, Jim Tarpley, of Dubois, ID; 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Ashton-Pineview Cemetery, in Ashton.
