Velda Leone Harrison Eaton Hogan, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 28, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Velda was born October 23, 1921, in Auburn, Wyoming, to Aaron David Harrison and Olive Louisa Wheelock Harrison. She grew up and attended schools in Star Valley and graduated from Star Valley High School.
On July 13, 1940, she married Bert Dean Eaton in Randolph, Utah. Velda and Bert made their home in Lewistown, Montana. Bert passed away May 10, 1981.
On February 22, 1986, she married Earnest King Hogan in the Cardston, Alberta, Canada, LDS Temple. Velda and Earnest made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Velda was a homemaker. Earnest passed away October 21, 2009.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed painting and quilting.
Velda is survived by her daughter, Evelyn (Lawrence) Pool of Deer Lodge, MT;
daughter, Linda (Herb) Lay of Thompson Falls, MT;
daughter, Sylvia McDuffie of Carrolton, GA;
son, Leo (Cindy) Eaton of Ammon, ID;
brother, Marion (Veola) Harrison of Salina, UT;
many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, a son, Howard, and a daughter, June, three sisters, and a brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 2nd Ward, 1660 – 12th Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, in the Central Montana Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lewistown, Montana, under the direction Creel Funeral Home.
