VELDA CLARK
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Velda Cook Clark, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 5, 2006, surrounded by her children and family at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 27, 1925, at Bountiful, Utah, to Joseph Amos Cook and Martha Myrtle Kynaston Cook. When she was three, her family moved to Ammon where she grew up and attended schools.
On October 28, 1941, she married Golden Lyle Clark in Idaho Falls. They made their home in Idaho Falls. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was a devoted wife and mother. She also owned a painting business with her sister, Melba. Later she went to work at the Idaho Department Store. She was a co-owner of C&C Answering Service along with her son, Larry. After retiring, she volunteered at the Senior Citizen Gift Shop.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Velda loved gardening and planted flowers in front of her house every summer. She enjoyed family bingo parties and loved singing country music, even before country was cool! One of her favorite pasttimes was going to lunch.
Velda especially loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by them.

Daughter: Trixie (Bill) Sherry, Nampa
Daughter: Peggy Nelson, Boise
Daughter: Janet (Galen) Gallup, Ammon
Son: Owen (Kami) Clark, Juneau, AK
Sister: Melba (Frank) Clark, Idaho Falls
Sister: Maxine (Jack) Fabre, Roy, UT
14 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Teri and Judy, a son-in-law, Bob Nelson; four brothers, LeRoy, Vernal, Alton, and Amos; and two sisters, Afton Denning and Arlene Cutler.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.

I was so sorry to read about your Mother's death. It is such a hard thing to go through. I hope you all are well and know I have been thinking of you. Her picture in the paper was wonderful. It caught the sparkle in her eyes! I have such happy memories of growing up with you all!
