Vard Hendricks

Vard Stayner Hendricks, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 21, 2024, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community.

Vard was born May 17, 1935, in Hibbard, Idaho, to James Elmer Hendricks and Blanche Hanks Hendricks. He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg, Idaho, and graduated from Madison High School.

On July 13, 1971, he married Janice Lee Cope in Lake Tahoe. Vard and Janice made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Vard worked as a fireman.

He was a member of the Jefferson Hills Golf Association and the Skyline Gun Club. He was an AVID Pilot for multiple entities. He also enjoyed snowmobiles and outdoor activities.

Vard is survived by his wife, Janice Hendricks of Ammon, ID; son, Thayne Hendricks of Sun Valley, ID; daughter, Carla Hendricks Sady of Hailey, ID; son, Jim (Debbie) Harrington of Poulsbo, WA; daughter, Chrissy Marshall of Idaho Falls, ID; son, William Harrington of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Neal (Kerma) Hendricks of Rexburg, ID; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sid Hendricks; brother, Blaine Hendricks; brother, El Ray Hendricks; son, Robert Harrington; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Harrington.

A gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2-5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 640 E. Elva.
