Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, VaLois Neeley Orme, age 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 13, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of a lingering illness.
VaLois was born October 7, 1930, in Roosevelt City, Utah, to Louis Paul Neeley and Mary Pilling Neeley. When she was 3, the family moved to Evanston, Wyoming, then six years later to Heber City, Utah. They later went to Shelby, Montana, where she graduated from Shelby High School. She also attended Brigham Young University and Ricks College.
She married Harold Ralph Orme June 20, 1951, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls and VaLois was a homemaker and mother. She also worked as a Tax Preparer for H & R Block for 30 years.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various capacities over the years, including pianist and temple worker. She enjoyed playing the piano and accompanying, square dancing, swimming and snorkeling in the ocean, and her friends and family. VaLois loved sewing and made 14 flower girls dresses for her granddaughter's wedding.
VaLois is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Harold, four sons, Michael R. (Dottie) Orme of Provo, UT, Samuel P. (Tammy) Orme of Idaho Falls, ID, Bradley L. (Janet) Orme of Knoxville, TN, and Anthony N. (Cari) Orme of Duvall, WA; two daughters, Carma (Brett) Hobbs and Janet (Paul) Allen, both of Idaho Falls; brother, Doral Neeley of Camarillo, CA; two sisters, Mary Lou Dooley of Shelley, ID and Darlene Harker of Idaho Falls, ID; 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a great granddaughter, Mariee.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS 26th Ward, 2020 Jennie Lee Drive, with Bishop Paul Manning officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
