UDELL LEAVITT
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Udell Leavitt, born September 25, 1929, to loving parents, Alton Leavitt and Arzell Thatcher Leavitt, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2006.
His family moved to Idaho Falls at age 13 and he graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1947. He served two hitches in the U. S. Army with the 15th AAA AW Battalion 31st AAA Brigade during the Korean Conflict.
On September 9, 1950, he married Viola Nell (Olie) Messenger. She passed away March 28, 1984. He worked at INEL in an overseeing position for 29 years. He retired in September, 1984.
Udell enjoyed working the potato harvest with fun friends, GREAT lunches, and free potatoes. Some of his favorite activities were camping and fishing with family and friends, bowling, golfing, birthdays with the great grandchildren, and skiing. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol since 1964.
He married long time friend, Nola Hagberg, on June 13, 1990, and inherited two daughters, three granddaughters, and four great granddaughters - he was surrounded by girls.
Survivors are his wife, Nola Leavitt; siblings, Cheryl (Bill) Leavitt Lane and Michael Alton (Lynn) Leavitt; daughters, Sandra (Ronald) Frazell and Shawna (Stoney) Brown; granddaughters, Wendi Hughes, Shaun (John) Mulberry, and Jennifer (Brad) Griffin; and great granddaughters, Ashlee, Amber, Haileigh, and Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and a sister, Vivienne Leavitt Bala.
The family would like to invite family and friends to celebrate Udell's life on Thursday, September 14, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Little Deli, 151 N. Ridge, in Idaho Falls. (Please use the west dining room entrance off the parking lot.)
Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with Military Rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.

I am so sorry for your loss of your wonderful husband. I know you loved each other so much and that Udell had be ill for quite some time. He is at peace now. God Bless you and take care of you.
