Tyce Jevin John

Tyce Jevin John, 18, of Ammon, finished his battle with heart disease on February 1, 2025, at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Tyce was born February 7, 2006, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Tristan Lance John and Julie Ann Waite John. He grew up and attended schools in Ammon and graduated from Thunder Ridge High School in 2024. He was currently attending BYU-I where he was studying data analytics.

Tyce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed playing baseball since he was five, and spent many summers traveling around southeast Idaho and northern Utah playing in tournaments, and then he pitched for Thunder Ridge High School. He also loved sports statistics, goofing around with his friends, playing video games with his brothers, and lovingly teasing his sister. He worked as a landscaper at the Ammon Cemetery and was an umpire for Ammon Little League since he was 13 years old.

Although Tyce has faced many health challenges related to his heart in the past couple of years, he never stopped living life to the fullest, and he never gave up. He had a testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel. Tyce had a desire to serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but we know he is serving a mission in heaven now.

Tyce is survived by his parents, Tristan and Julie John of Ammon, ID; brother, Brandon John of Ammon, ID; brother, Creighton (Lizzie) John of Logan, UT; sister, Capri John of Ammon, ID; grandparents, LaMar and Verna Rae John of Idaho Falls, ID and Randy and Carol Waite of Ammon, ID.

The family would like to thank the countless medical professionals, from his cardiologists, doctors, surgeons, nurses, and ambulance and life flight EMTs for the upmost care they gave to Tyce up until his last minute on earth. You are doing the work of angels.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Ammon North Stake Center, 4363 E. 17th Street. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.

In honor of Tyce, we are inviting all attendees to wear mismatched socks (which was his signature look and was what he was wearing at the time of his death). If you need inspiration about which socks to buy, his favorite sports teams were the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, and the Utah Jazz.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Ronald McDonald Charities and dedicate your donation to Tyce John. If you would like to write a check, it can be sent to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho, 139 Warm Springs Avenue, Boise, ID 83712.
