Troy Charles Leishman, 47, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 20, 2018, at Sheep Creek above the Palisades Reservoir, as the result of an avalanche. Troy was born July 30, 1970, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Bron Waldram Leishman and Christine Beryl Rasmussen Leishman. He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School in 1988. He also attended Ricks College and Utah State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Range Science. He served an LDS mission in the Washington D.C. South Mission from 1989 to 1991. On June 26, 1992, he married Monica Anderson, daughter of Wade and Marilyn Anderson of Rexburg, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born five children, Jaden, Alexis, Danner, Sage, and Regan. Troy and Monica made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Troy owned and operated his own electrical business, TL Electric, for 18 years. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was currently serving on the High Council, although, his favorite callings were in the Nursery and with the Sunbeams. He had a special gift with children. His family called him "the child whisperer." He was beloved by all who knew him and made everyone feel like they were his best friend. His motto was "work hard, play harder." He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, motor biking, fishing, waterskiing, golfing, and camping. He was a devoted father, husband, son, and brother. He loved spending time with his family. He was never happier than when he was supporting his children in their athletic, musical, and other endeavors. Troy is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Monica Leishman of Idaho Falls, ID; parents, Bron and Christine Leishman of Rexburg, ID; son, Jaden Troy Leishman of Provo, UT; daughter, Alexis Maryn Leishman of Ogden, UT; son, Danner Wade Leishman of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Sage Christine Leishman of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Regan Leishman of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Todd (Janae) Leishman of Rexburg, ID; sister, Teresa (Doug) Bodily of West Jordan, UT; sister, Tamie (Tracy) Ard of Sammammish, WA; sister, Tasha (JD) Griffith of Kaysville, UT; brother, Trevor (Amy) Leishman of Rexburg, ID; brother, Tyson (Melanie) Leishman of Rexburg, ID; many, many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Ammon LDS North Stake Center, corner of 17th Street and Crowley Road (45th Street), with Bishop Jeff Branson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Sugar City Cemetery. In memory of Troy, an education fund for his children is available at any Beehive Federal Credit Union Branch.
