Trent Glenn Smith, 55, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 26, 2023, in Utah.
Trent was born August 27, 1968, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Max Glenn Smith and Karen Lee Jennings Smith. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. He went on to attended Arizona Technical College, Ricks College, and Idaho State University.
He married Rebecca Christensen and they had three children, Andrew, Maren and Megan. Trent was a truck driver for Utah Transportation and a painter by trade.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS Mission in Nashville, Tennessee, and Virginia. He served faithfully in the Bishopric and the Elders Quorum. He enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, camping, and fishing and he loved to read. He loved spending time with his kids and especially going out to dinner with them, and he loved his animals.
Trent is survived by his parents, Max and Karen Smith; son, Andrew Smith of UT; daughter, Maren Smith of UT; daughter, Megan Smith of UT; sister, Debbie (Alan) Schaefer of ID; sister, Michelle (Bruce) Hirschi of UT.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Troy Max Smith, and sister, Karen Smith.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Idaho Falls Stake Center, 1155 1st Street, with Bishop Brian Shultz of the Idaho Falls 32nd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior at the church. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery.
