Travis Larsen

Travis Gregory Larsen, 22, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Washington. Travis was born July 25, 1989, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Gregory Charles Larsen and Gretchen Ann Fohrenck Larsen (now Copeland). Travis spent his growing-up years in Idaho Falls, attending Iona Elementary School, Rocky Mountain Middle School, and Bonneville High School. Travis recently received his GED from Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA. Travis was enrolled to begin welding courses through Columbia Basin College in the spring of 2012. For several years Travis worked in construction, creating homes and other structures he was very proud of. Travis found a great deal of joy when he worked with individuals with special needs in a group home. He also had the opportunity to work alongside his dad, neighbors, family friends and uncles and cousins in a variety of work settings. Travis was good at every single sport – baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, golf, and even ping pong. He was a boy in every way, he loved fishing, hunting, camping, riding motorcycles, four-wheelers and snowmobiles. Travis was very close to his family and friends, always on an adventure. He loved going up to Big Sky each year with his mom and to Lagoon with his dad and siblings. Travis grew up loving the Utah Jazz, Dallas Cowboys and most recently the Tri-City Americans hockey team. His greatest gift was his ability to make a friend. He enjoyed talking with others more than anything, going out of his way to let them know how much they meant to him. This was especially true for his mom and dad, as anyone who knew Travis knew they were his whole world. The big heart that Travis has always had will live on with him, even as he has gone to sleep in this world. We know our strong, protective blue-eyed boy will live on in each of us and in the miracles of every day. Travis is survived by his mother, Gretchen (Mike) Copeland of West Richland, Washington, his father, Gregory Larsen of Iona, Idaho, his brother, Dustin (Stephanie) Larsen of Idaho Falls, ID, two sisters, Melissa Ann Larsen of Salt Lake City, UT, and Jacy Jackson of Twin Falls, ID, his grandparents, Vaun and Lucretia Larsen of Iona, ID, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and his niece and nephew.
