Biography

Anthony "Tony" Hincks, 82, of Swan Valley, Idaho, passed away at his home February 7, 2018. He was under the care of his loving family and Encompass Hospice. He was born October 12, 1935, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Elvin Vale Hincks and Mildred Jacobson Hincks. His early school years were spent in Wyoming and then he went to school in Swan Valley and Ririe. He graduated from Ririe High School. He grew up in the Swan Valley area and married Jean Ann Prince October 24, 1953, in Swan Valley, Idaho. They had eight children, Rocky, Barry, Cody, Clay, Kelly, Lynni, Cory and Brady. Jean passed away July 14, 2016. Tony worked for the Idaho State Department of Transportation. He was the head of the Swan Valley Department maintaining the roads from the Wyoming border to Ririe. Tony was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, horses, and spending time with his family. He also loved anything to do with the outdoors. He is survived by his son, Rocky (Nit) Hincks of Lakewood, WA; son, Barry (Jennifer) Hincks of Bellevue, ID; son, Cody Hincks of Overton, NV; son, Clay (Debbie) Hincks of Rock Springs, WY; son, Kelly Hincks of Swan Valley, ID; daughter, Lynni Hincks of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Cory Hincks of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brady (Astra) Hincks of Rigby, ID; brother, Roy (Deloris) Hincks of Aberdeen, ID; sister, Eunice (Martel) Sneider of Menan, ID; brother, Dusty (Joyce) Hincks of Swan Valley, ID; brother, Bret (Joann) Hincks of Palisades, ID; sister-in-law, Marlene Hincks of Roosevelt, UT; brother-in-law, Gene Sorg of Paul, ID; 26 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Mildred, wife, Jean, sister, Sheila Sorg, and a brother, Brian Hincks. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Chapel in the Valley, 3263 Swan Valley Highway. The family will visit with friends from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services.
