Tonia Batson

Tonia Batson, 68, of Rexburg, passed away February 24, 2023, from complications of health at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Tonia was born July 14, 1954, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to George Glenn Belnap and Rosalie Zimmerman Belnap Roper. She grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot.

Tonia absolutely loved her crafts. She also loved her Scratch Tickets, never won much but that never stopped her. Tonia could never pass up a claw machine, also spending her change on them. Tonia was very forth coming on how to teach people how to crochet blankets or to do plastic canvas.

Tonia is survived by her daughter, Tia Neal; twin sister, Sonia (Steven) Arvin, Temple, TX; grandson, Octavious Eugene Tucker; half-sisters, Debra Covack of California, and Mary Lou Isaacs; brothers, Gary G. Belnap, Alan Roper, and Jack Smith; and best friend, Freedan Walters who was like a sister, who helped her for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
