Our precious husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Tadashi Todd Ogawa, 94, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 12, 2012, at his home after living a long life full of work and service. He was under the care of his family and Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Todd was born December 6, 1917, in Iona, Idaho, to Japanese immigrants, Sakichi Ogawa and Yoshie Tamura Ogawa. He grew up in Iona and attended Iona Elementary and graduated from Iona High School. On November 6, 1950, he married Ida Sueko Hikida at Trinity United Methodist Church in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Todd and Ida made their home in Osgood, where they raised their three daughters, Carrie, Sherry, and Geraldine, and Todd was employed with Mikami Brothers and was plant manager for J.R. Simplot Company until his retirement in September, 2002. They moved to their home in Idaho Falls in 1963, where they have lived ever since. An active member and High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Todd served in various capacities over the years and was always a willing helper. He was a member of the Skyline Booster Club and Japanese American Citizens League, and was active in Snake River Taiko Drummers. Todd enjoyed gardening, Taiko drums, puzzle books, bowling, decorating his yard for Christmas, attending Skyline boys and girls sports, collecting pens, and visiting his daughters and their families in California. Todd was an avid gardener and devoted many hours to his yard and garden, as well as those of his loved ones. Todd is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Ida Ogawa of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter, Carrie (Douglas) Ogawa-Wong of Northridge, CA, Daughter, Sherry (Steve) Randolph of Idaho Falls, ID, Daughter, Geraldine (Bill) Ogawa-Henderson of North Hills, CA; Brother, Mosie Ogawa of Boise, ID, Brother, Takashi Tak Ogawa of Powell, WY, Brother, Tom Ogawa of Idaho Falls, ID, Brother, Kenny Ogawa of Portland, OR; Three Grandchildren, Travis Todd Wong, Tia Alese Wong, and Cassidy Brooke Wong, all of Northridge, CA. And eight grand-dogs, Coco Puff, Jazmin, Hunter, Daux, Bella, Kix, Makai, and Kamae. Todd was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Miyasaki, brother, Yosie Ogawa, and his late grand-dogs, Lan, Shaba, Tofu, Oscar, Meyer, Sampson, and Ollie. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Michael Hays officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and from 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
