Thora Larue (Johnson) Just

Thora LaRue Johnson Just, age 95, passed away in Henderson, Nevada. Thora was attended to by family and passed peacefully in her sleep on May 10, 2024. Thora Johnson was the first child born to Bertha and Andrew Johnson on May 24, 1928. She was the oldest of 5 children, Kenneth, Nedra, Naida, Luana. Thora Johnson was raised on a family farm in Basalt, Idaho. She graduated from Firth High School in 1946. In high school she met her future husband Charles Just. In story book fashion, Thora being the cheerleader and Charlie was the captain of the football and basketball team. They fell in love. They were married in the Firth Ward on September 12, 1946. Charlie went into the Army and Thora worked at Challenge Dairy in Idaho Falls as a bookkeeper. Upon his return, they settled in Idaho Falls, and owned several businesses, Just Army Store, Just Ace Hardware, and Just Appliance. They were committed to helping Idaho Falls grow and made lifelong friends in the Jaycees and Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce.

Thora was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Thora is survived by sister Naida Jensen; sons Charles Craig Just and Joel Elliot Just; daughter, Janet Renae Just-Hill; 8 grand children and 10 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery.
