Thomas Gentry Wilson passed away of natural causes on September 8, 2011, at the age of 56 years, while visiting his mother in Rexburg, Idaho.
Tom was born October 20, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, to Thomas Alexander Wilson and Margaret Betty (Zundel) Wilson.
Tom was very loyal and giving to his friends. He would give his last shirt to a friend in need. Tom enjoyed, among other things, fishing and playing and listening to music, especially blues music. Tom also enjoyed delving into history, particularly history about Eagle Rock. He was also politically active in the Democratic Party, always ready to discuss politics, and was concerned with such political matters as the environment.
Tom graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He worked in various occupations throughout his life, including construction, tree planting, recycling and warehousing. He resided in Idaho Falls for most of his life, but also enjoyed living in Oregon for a time.
Tom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Tom was particularly loving and loyal to his mother. He was not only a son, but a good friend who called his mother every day and visited her frequently. Tom loved his nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts. He is survived by his mother, Margaret (Zundel) Chambers of Rexburg, Idaho, and a brother, Billy G. DuPree, Jr. of Rexburg, Idaho.
Memorial Services for Tom will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will visit with friends Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home. Tom’s family, friends, and neighbors are invited to attend. Tom will be missed.
