Thomas Etsel Sommer

Thomas Etsel Sommer, 65, of Salt Lake City, Utah, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away August 19, 2025, at his home.

Thom was born October 12, 1959, to Etsel and Maxine Sommer. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended school in District 93.

On October 13, 2015, he was married in Las Vegas, Nevada, to his life partner, Jeff Webb, who preceded him in death. They made their home in Salt Lake City and for a time in Queen Creek, Arizona. The nieces and nephews lovingly referred to them as Aunt Thom and Uncle Jeff.

Thom worked as a handyman and landscaper.

He was preceded in death by his husband and his parents.

Thom is survived by brothers, Mike (Jeannie), Jeff (Therisa), Kevin (Terri), and David; sisters, Laurie (Mark) Welker and Shelly (Paul) Snarr. He is also survived by Jeff’s family: mother-in-law, Judy; sisters-in-law, Penny and Shelly; niece, Sontara; and Jeff’s son, Toby.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. September 12, 2025, at the Ammon Cemetery.
