TOM HILLIER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Thomas Michael “Tom” Hillier, 46, of Idaho Falls, died July 15, 2004, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was born November 23, 1957, in Idaho Falls, to George Barrett Hillier and Sharon Anderson Hillier. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Skyline High School in 1976. Tom was a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls. He married Wynette Butikofer August 5, 1976, in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He began work at the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office in February, 1977, where he faithfully served for 28 years. He was a Shift Commander at the time of his death. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various capacities over the years, including as a Stake Missionary. He enjoyed fly-fishing, hunting, bowling, playing cribbage, and the outdoors. Tom was outgoing, friendly, and fun to spend time with; the great love of his life was spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Surviving are: Wife: Wynette Hillier, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Alissa (Brett) Elder, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Thomas Barrett (Karla) Hillier, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Tiffany (Greg) Anderson, Idaho Falls, ID Mother: Sharon (Ron) Felsted, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: David Hillier, Blackfoot, ID Sister: Laura Pierson, Hermiston, OR Sister: Merry Hansen, Idaho Falls, ID 7 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his father, George Barrett “Blacky” Hillier, and a brother, Clifton Charles Hillier. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS Woodhaven Ward, 260 Castlerock, with Bishop W. Baird McNaught officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
