Thomas Bennett "Tom" Felts died peacefully in Idaho Falls September 13, 2015, at the age of 87. Tom is survived by his wife, Lila; his children, Stephen (Paula), Clinton (Lauri), and Kathy (Tom); his grandchildren, Tyson (Stephanie), Christopher (Sarah), Amanda (Craig), Samantha (John), Shelby (Chip) and Joseph Bennett; and his great-grandchildren, Aviana, Elinara, Preston, Connor, Adelyn, J. Bennett, Jameson, Kaden, and Brody.
Tom was born January 8, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from East High School, attended the University of Utah, and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He met the love of his life, Lila Jean, when she was 13 years old. They married April 18, 1949, and were married for 66 years.
Tom and Lila moved to Idaho Falls in 1954 to work for Bearing Service and Supply to facilitate the building of Palisades Dam. They fell in love with the area and community. Tom and his co-owner, Vaun Bingham, started their own business, Bearing & Industrial Sales, Inc. and Industrial Hose & Fittings, in 1971. The businesses continue to thrive and are run by their sons.
Tom was a class act, a dapper gentleman. He was a legacy member of the Idaho Falls Country Club and shareholder at Jefferson Golf Club, an Elks Club member, and a charter member of the Idaho Falls Lions Club. He was an avid boater, camper, and lover of all things aviation and anything with a steering wheel or engine. He loved to buy fast cars, build and fly model airplanes, ski, and golf. He was champion at living room putting and back yard chipping, and the perfecter of the "latest golf swing."
