Thomas Birch

THOMAS REED BIRCH Thomas Reed Birch, 90, of Idaho Falls, died May 14, 2003, at the Life Care Center. He was born October 2, 1912, at St. Anthony, to David Birch and NancyEldredge Garn Birch. He grew up and attended schools in St. Anthony. He married Eileen Clinkscales September 26, 1934, in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. They lived briefly in the Squirrel area and farmed there, thenfarmed in St. Anthony and Wilford until 1962, when they moved to Idaho Falls. In Idaho Falls he worked as a custodian at the Ammon LDS 3rd Ward building and operated the Birch Laundry. Eileen passed away September 30, 1984. He married Louise Monk Reynolds December 29, 1987, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various positions over the years, including member of the Bishopric and home teacher. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and handyman work. The family expresses deep appreciation to Life Care Center for their services in caring for Reed. Surviving are: Wife: Louise Birch, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Sylvia Cook, Idaho Falls Daughter: DeAnna [Bill] Maddocks, Idaho Falls Daughter: Deborah [George] Bowles, Clarksville, TN Son: Tom [MaryLou] Birch, Monroe, UT Son: Dan [Miracle] Birch, Mt. Juliet, TN Stepdaughter: Janice Hernandez, Blackfoot Stepdaughter: Hayley [Bob] McCord, Idaho Falls Stepson: Kline [Judy] Reynolds, Jerome Sister: Eva Pemfold, Hagerman 2 3 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and five sisters. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2003, at the Ammon LDS 3rd Ward, 2945 Selway, with Bishop Nate Martin of the Ammon LDS 3rd Ward officiating.
