Thomas Barnes

Thomas Leland Barnes, 37, died November 8th, 2015 at his home in Idaho Falls. Tom was born into this world a warrior on October 6th, 1978 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck three times. He was a fighter from the start with a strong spirit all his own. Tom was raised in Burley and graduated from Burley High School in 1997. He worked primarily in the grocery business. He lived a short, yet full life enjoying family, friends, golf, art, music, food and having a good time. The highlight of his life was becoming a father. He cherished every minute he spent with his son Jamisen. Above all he loved Jesus, his family and the great outdoors. Tom loved to entertain. He enjoyed pulling pranks and telling jokes. He was known for his effortless ability to make everyone laugh. Tom had a huge heart and was willing to give to others when he himself was in need. In recent years he bore a heavy cross. He fought many battles. He never gave up on trying to put his life back on track Let us not judge each other for our sins but celebrate one another showing love like Tom gave without question or judgment. He spent the last 4 months of his life in Idaho Falls working as a caregiver at Grand Teton. There, he was able to give back some of the bountiful love he had inside of him to help others, thus healing himself. We celebrate the time we shared together. We will miss him yet are comforted knowing he is resting in the arms of Jesus. Tom is survived by his son, Jamisen Barnes of Midway, Utah, his parents, Terry and Karla Barnes, of Burley, his sister, Holly (Joel) Gandara of Boise, his grandmothers, Betty Kippes and Barbara Barnes both of Buhl, in addition to an army of loving extended family. He was proceeded in death by his grandfathers, Lee Barnes and Fred Kippes and grandmother Barbara Ma-comber.
