THOMAS R. BALSTAD IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Thomas Richard Balstad, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 3, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. He was born December 24, 1939, in Portland, North Dakota, to Peder Balstad and Georgina Hagen Balstad. He graduated from high school. He served as a Corporal in the U. S. Army. He was married and divorced. He worked as a draftsman and concrete worker. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. Tommy was one of the most hard-working men I ever knew. I worked with him in concrete many years. He was such a giving man. He would do anything for anyone. Not just a co-worker but a very dear friend. I have not talked to him in a year and a half, or so but have thought of him often. You should be so proud to be able to call him father, brother, uncle, etc. because I feel blessed to have known him and had him as a friend. What an awesome person he was. He will live on in my thoughts and memories forever. My family sends there thoughts and prayers to be with you during this time.
