THERON GAMBLES IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Theron B. Gambles, 82, of Idaho Falls, died September 3, 2007, at Mt. Vernon Assisted Living. He was born April 4, 1925, in Ogden, Utah, to George Roscoe Gambles and Thelma Brim Gambles. He grew up in Swan Lake, Idaho, and graduated from Downey High School. In 1943, he was drafted into the military and served in the Air Force for three years before being discharged. In 1948 he was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central Atlantic States Mission. On January 25, 1952, he married Flora Christiansen in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They made their home in Downey, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. She preceded him in death on November 21, 1979. He worked as a salesman, first in Implements in Downey, then in car sales for various dealerships in Pocatello and Idaho Falls, including many years at Smith Chevrolet. He married Doralie B. Weaver on September 19, 1980 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Rexburg until he moved to assisted living in Idaho Falls. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings, including High Priest Group Leader, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and was a Temple Officiator in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He enjoyed golf, BYU Football, fishing, camping, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: Wife: Doralie B. Gambles, Rexburg, ID Son: Bryan (Anita) Gambles, St. George, UT Daughter: Annette (Gary) Simpson, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Linda (Brent) Boyle, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Milton Gambles, Soda Springs, ID Brother: Harry Gambles, Blackfoot, ID Sister: Barbara Luke, Burley, ID Sister: Lois Hess, Malad, ID Sister: Marilyn Child, Layton, UT 10 Grandchildren & 10 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; his wife, Flora; and two brothers, Phil Gambles and Paul Gambles. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Fox Hollow LDS Ward Building, 2345 West 17th South, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Thomas Thornton of the Rexburg LDS 15th Ward officiating. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls and from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. -------------------------------------------------
