Theresa Melanson

Marie Jeanne Therese "Theresa" Arel Melanson, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 13, 2016, at her home. She was under the care of Teton Hospice. Theresa was born June 16, 1929, in Biddeford, Maine, to Roland Arel and Blanche Cyr. She grew up and attended schools in Biddeford. In 1947, she married Joseph Melanson. To this union was born one daughter, Cynthia. Theresa and Joseph eventually made their home in Holmes Beach, Florida, where Theresa worked as a sales clerk for Mr. Roberts Men's Shop. Joseph passed away in 1989. Theresa subsequently moved to the Carolinas, with residences in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, and Little River, South Carolina. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Theresa enjoyed traveling. Theresa is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (David) Neil of Idaho Falls, ID; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Melanson, and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Alzheimer's Association to help with research.
