Simpson - 12/01/2001 THELMA BOOTHE SIMPSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Thelma Boothe Simpson, 101, of Idaho Falls, died November 30, 2001, at the Lily House in Idaho Falls. She was born August 19, 1900 at Brigham City, Utah, to John Neff and Fannie Priscilla Wilde Boothe. Thelma attended High School in Weston, Idaho and then Albion State Normal School in Albion, Idaho. She taught school at Mink Creek, Idaho, for one year before her marriage. She married Charles Oliver Simpson on June 29, 1921 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and mother. He died January 8, 1986. During World War II she started teaching again. She taught at Weston and also Malad, Idaho. She also completed a bachelor of Science Degree in education at the USAC in Logan, Utah. Thelma was active in the LDS Church, serving in many positions including MIA President. She loved teaching the Gleaner girls. She served a mission to the Central States with her husband and they also served as officiators in the Logan Temple for many years. They moved from Malad to Blackfoot in November 1984 to be near their family. Surviving are:Son: Ferrol (Kathryn) Simpson, Idaho Falls, IDSon: Dr, Gordon (Betty Jo) Simpson, Blackfoot, IDDaughter-in-law: Shirley Simpson, Blackfoot, ID 11 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, 1 sister, 2 sons, Neal and Dr. Keith Simpson, and one grandson, David Ferrol Simpson. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at the Idaho Falls Stake Center, with a member of the Idaho Falls LDS 21st Ward Bishopric officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. before services on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Weston, Idaho Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402-4092.
