Thelma Louise Bickell Sheetz, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away on April 15, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born February 5, 1927, in Butte, Montana to Merlin Everett Bickell and Jennie Mae Williams Bickell. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Butte High School. She moved to Medford, Oregon where she worked for the Weather Bureau and met her future husband.
On September 10, 1945, she married Donald McClellan Sheetz in Jackson County, Oregon. They made their home in Idaho Falls where they raised 10 children. Thelma was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She felt strongly about her children’s education, which led to her working in the PTA, holding various offices. This also led to her running for Zone 3 School Board Representative for Bonneville School District 93 Board of Trustees. She also volunteered with the Easter Seals Program and participated in the War Bonnet Rodeo.
Thelma was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. But nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Donald McClellan Sheetz I, her son, Donald McClellan Sheetz II, grandsons, Brad Morgan and Scott Morgan, and Son in Law, Ron Franklin.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Iona Cemetary
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S Ammon).
