IRENE FIKSTAD
AMMON, ID -- Thelma Irene Grover Fikstad, 80, of Ammon, died April 14, 2007, at her home.
She was born May 13, 1926, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Westley LaVern Grover and Thelma Lucille Carlson Grover. She grew up in Rexburg and attended schools there, graduating from Madison High School.
She married J. Gordon Fikstad June 18, 1950, in Rexburg. Their marriage was solemnized April 8, 1988, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and mother. Her husband died July 17, 1990.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She adored her grandchildren and they were very much a part of her daily life. She enjoyed camping and hunting, cooking for family outings, was always by her husband Jay’s side, and was happiest serving her family. In her younger years Irene enjoyed dancing and snowmobiling with her husband and friends.

Daughter: Julie Ann (Kelly) Landon, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Doris Larsen, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Zenda Sharp, Sugar City, ID
9 Grandchildren & 3 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant brother, and two sisters, Nina DuMont and Gwen Sommer.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Ammon LDS 1st Ward, 3000 Central Avenue, with Randy Graves of the Ammon 1st Ward Bishopric officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Thursday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Archer-Sutton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
