Thelma Campbell

Thelma Campbell, 95, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2017, with her son by her side, at Crystal Creek Assisted Living. She was under the care of Brio Home Health and Hospice.

Thelma was born December 28, 1921, in Driggs, Idaho, to Alonzo Young Greene and Abigail Marker Greene. She grew up and attended schools in Driggs, Idaho, and graduated high school. Thelma continued her education in Idaho Falls and attended Beauty College.

On March 5, 1943, she married Elden E. Campbel (Eddie) in Yuma, Arizona. Eddie was enlisted with the U.S. Navy and together they had lived in many states. From this union they were blessed with two sons, Elden Allen and Robert Bruce. Thelma and Eddie made their home in San Diego, California where Thelma worked as a beautician.

Thelma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Thelma loved to travel and had been to every state in the U.S., but her favorite place was traveling to Teton Canyon, to be with family. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing. She had the biggest heart and helped anyone who needed it. We will miss you, Grandma.

Thelma is survived by her son, Allen (Claudia) Campbell of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Roesmary (Kit) Summers of Driggs, ID; seven grandchildren, Michelle Campbell of Clearfield, UT, Jonnie Wilson of Citrus Heights, CA; Ronnie (Jennifer) Campbell of Idaho Falls, ID, Jimmy Campbell of Boise, ID, Jamie Campbell of San Diego, CA, Joann Shellenberger of Sacramento, CA, and Lisa Campbell of Alpine, CA; 12 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie; son, Bruce Campbell; great grandson, Brad Wilson; four brothers, Estus Greene, Lyle Greene Sr., Bruce Greene, and Clell Greene; and four sisters, Leisle Rasmussen, Shirla Herrera, Ila Mares, and Deon Greene.

As per Thelma’s request, no services will be held. Family and friends will meet at a later date, to be determined.
