Theda Killpack

Theda Rae Killpack, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 19, 2016, at her home. She was under the care of her loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice. Theda was born July 4, 1931, in Firth, Idaho, to Cyrus Carleon Tolman and Gertrude E. White Tolman. She grew up and attended schools in Firth and graduated from Firth High School. She also attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, and graduated as a registered nurse in 1953. On March 11, 1952, she married Martell D. Killpack in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born four children, Steven, Kathy, Kelly, and Kurt. Theda and Martell made their home in Osgood, Idaho, and farmed a Utah Idaho Sugar Co. farm. In 1961, they moved to Roberts, Idaho, where they farmed and raised cattle. In 1970, they moved to Coltman, Idaho. As a registered nurse, she helped the homebound in the communities where she lived. She worked in most fields of nursing. She became specialized in pediatrics. Theda extended her nursing to include troubled children and teens, psychiatric nursing, and drug rehabilitation. In 1997, she retired after 43 years of nursing. Theda was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many positions in the Church. She lived a life of service to others and served a one-year LDS mission at the Church Distribution Center from December 9, 2002-December 9, 2003. She was also privileged to work in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was active in 4H and scouting, and helped in the schools. Her hobbies included quilting, embroidery, writing poetry, gardening, flowers, cake decorating, and painting. She had a beautiful yard and garden with beautiful flowers. She enjoyed fishing and passed that hobby along to her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and was most happy when the family was together for dinner. Neighbors and friends also enjoyed her special treats. Theda is survived by her son, Steven D. Killpack of Idaho Falls; daughter, Kathy (Terry) Hansen of Idaho Falls; son, Kelly C.
