THAYLIS MCCLASKEY Click here to view Thaylis's Video Tribute IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO -- Thaylis Harris McClaskey, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 17, 2010, at her home. She was born June 8, 1926, in Fairfield, Idaho, to Orlin Langley Harris and Sarah Saphrona Thompson Harris. She attended schools in Ashton and earned her GED. On June 30, 1944, she married Pat Donald McClaskey in Dillion, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on December 6, 1980. Pat preceded her in death on June 30, 2006. Thaylis was a devoted mother and homemaker and also worked as a cook at the Sacred Heart Hospital and at Carol’s Dress Shop. She also was Mrs. Santa Claus at the Mall for many years. Thaylis was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous positions, including Relief Society President. She enjoyed cake decorating, baking, sewing, flower arranging, and dancing. She also loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, going to the cabin, waterskiing, camping, and was the best marshmallow roaster in camp. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care given by Peak Village and One Source Hospice. Survivors are: Daughter: Patty (Mike) Dearden, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Steven (Thirza) McClaskey, Idaho Falls, ID Son: DeLynn (Della) McClaskey, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Elaine (David) Oram, Pasco, WA 16 grandchildren. 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Craig Donald McClaskey; all her brothers and sisters, Ida Violet Lee, Grant Harris, Donna Lou Cordon, and Kay Harris; and two grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to One Source Hospice, 3544 East 17th Street, Suite 201, Idaho Falls, ID 83406. ---------------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Sue Archibald I am a friend of her grandaughter Gail Currie.
