Tess Snow Peck, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 10, 2011 at Lincoln Court Assisted Living. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. Tess was born May 8, 1926 in Brigham City, Utah, to Robert Wilson “Knox” Snow and Mildred Emma Michaelis Snow. She was a graduate of Box Elder High School. She married Walter Hyer “Bee” Peck on April 15, 1946 in Brigham City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized on January 9, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Garneill, Montana for 23 years and Lewistown, Montana for 14 years. Walter preceded her in death on January 7, 1984. Tess moved to Idaho Falls in 1985 to be closer to family. She maintained a beautiful home until health issues required her to move in August of 2010. After high school Tess worked as a telephone operator in Brigham City, Utah. She was fully involved with the ranch operations in Montana until they retired and moved to Lewistown, Montana. She then spent many years working as a bookkeeper and in sales at McDonald’s Clothing Store. She enjoyed being a mother and homemaker and delighted in the title “Grammy.” She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a seminary teacher, in leadership positions working with the youth, and in children’s organizations. She was an exceptional teacher. She was a temple volunteer for eleven years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary. Tess enjoyed doll making and collecting, needlework, gardening, and quilting. She collected angels and unicorns. She enjoyed being a leader for Girl Scouts and 4-H. Throughout her life she was significantly involved in civic and community organizations and functions. Survivors include: Daughter: Mildred Colleen “Miki” Peck (Ken Bayles) of St. George, UT Daughter: Pamela Tess (Denny) Fillmore of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Walter Ralph (Julie) Peck of Helena, MT Brother: Jerry Snow of Brigham City, UT Brother: Max Snow of Hyrum, UT Sister: Kirma Larsen of Mesa, AZ Sister: Colleen Mortensen of St. George, UT 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, ten siblings and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Woodruff LDS 2nd Ward, 1660 12th Street. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to services. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Lewistown City Cemetery, Lewistown, Montana.
