Terry Rex Taylor, 73 of Ammon, Idaho, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at his home, surrounded by family. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. Terry was born January 9, 1944, in Richfield, Utah, to Rex Leon Taylor and Viva Christina Taylor. He attended elementary and middle school in Richfield, Utah, before moving to Rupert, Idaho, where he graduated from Minico High School. He attended Utah State University and graduated with a degree in Range Management. After graduation he worked in elevator construction in Utah and enlisted in the U. S. Army National Guard. In 1976 he moved to Boise, Idaho, to accept a job with the Bureau of Land Management. Terry later moved to Baker, Oregon, where he met his future wife, Debra Ann Peutz. They were married June 30, 1979. Following the wedding they moved to Burns, Oregon, for five years and during this time Matthew Rex and Ashlee Ann were born. In 1984, he took a transfer with the BLM to Idaho Falls and Michael William was born into the family in 1987. He continued to work for the BLM in Range Management, and retired in 2004 after 27 years of employment. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, spending time on the family ranch in Mackay, Idaho, and being with family and friends. Terry and Debra were able to take many cruises, where he loved sitting on the balcony watching the ocean go by. Terry is survived by his wife, Debra Taylor of Idaho Falls, ID, and his children, Matthew (Emily) Taylor of Pocatello, ID; Ashlee (Clint) Burke of Ammon, ID; Michael (Jessica) Taylor of Iona, ID; Azurlee (Scott) Moore of St Petersburg, FL. He is also survived by his sister, Shirlene Cloward, of Hurricane, UT, and two brothers, Kennen Taylor of Mackay, ID and Don Taylor of Rupert, ID; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Viva Taylor; and a brother, Bruce Taylor. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Ammon LDS 1st Ward, 3000 Central Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
