Terry Val Covert, 71, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Terry was born on May 17, 1939, in Ammon, Idaho, to Spencer Covert and Ida Sophia Covert. He was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Bonneville High School.
While in high school, he met the love of his life, Marina Lurus. Terry and Marina were married on November 9, 1958 and shared fifty-two wonderful years of marriage together. Terry and Marina had two sons, Keal Terry and Timothy Matthew, both of Idaho Falls.
Terry worked in the banking industry for several years. In 1967, he joined Bonneville Industrial Supply Company (BISCO), which was a new company just getting started. Terry was passionate about his job at BISCO. He truly loved going to work every day. Terry had an incredible work ethic and gave his all to the company. A hallmark of his service was arriving at work by 5:00 a.m. to open up the store to serve customers who regularly counted on him so they could get an early start to their day. Terry retired as the vice president of BISCO in 2007 with forty years of dedicated service.
Terry enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved taking his family on outings to the mountains where he taught his two sons about fishing and the beauty of nature. He loved his horses and dogs. He also greatly enjoyed reading westerns, especially the stories written by Louis L’Amour. Terry especially liked to take vacations with his family and one of his most favorite destinations was Las Vegas.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Marina, and his sons, Keal (Tanya) and Tim and Grandsons, Tanner Jon, and Zachary Ty. He is also survived by a brother; Spencer Dean Covert, of Iona, Idaho. His parents; a sister, Patsy Grover; and a brother, John W. Covert, preceded him in death.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Kevin Mulvey, Dr. Alan Avondet, and Dr. Peter Cannon for the outstanding care they provided to Terry.
