Terri Lynn Shelton, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 13, 2023, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
Terri was born December 31, 1953, in Rigby, Idaho, to Arnold Lynn Hansen and Ann Hansen. She grew up and attended schools in Menan and Rigby. She moved to Idaho Falls her senior year and graduated from Bonneville High School. She worked at an office as well as at Deseret Industries and the Developmental Workshop. She later became a wonderful mother and homemaker.
She met her eternal companion on a blind date at Starlite Skating, and on June 8, 1979, she married Kay Shelton in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Terri and Kay made their home in Ammon where they raised their two children, Steven and Leslie. Because she couldn’t drive, you might have seen her walking the mall or the streets of Ammon in her “full Armor of God”.
Terri was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved working in the primary and serving as a chorister. Terri’s strength was her angelic singing voice which lifted many choirs and spirits. She served her whole life bringing joy and hope to others, always reminding people to have a positive attitude, “because life is hard”.
Terri is survived by her loving husband, Kay Lynn Shelton; mother, Ann Beddes; her other mother, Lennie Hansen; son, Steve Shelton of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Leslie (Marc) Babcock of Moore, ID; siblings Vicky Sauer of Idaho Falls, ID, Lorrie (Bill) Distefano of Provo, UT, Ricky Joe (Sylvia) Hansen of West Valley, UT, Kim (Nancy) Hansen of Rigby, ID, Kirk (Tennie) Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID, Debi (John) Waddell of St. Anthony, ID, Lexi (David) Berdrow of Salmon, ID, Dana (David) Miller of Rigby, ID, Wade (Sheree) Peterson of Menan, ID, Lynn (Pam) Peterson of Hartford, WI, Laura Peterson of Eureka, CA, Lorina (Rod) Morris of Grant, ID, CharLynn (Sheldon) Stegman of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lorna (Lloyd) Romriell of Paul, ID; and 7 grandchildren, River, Charity, Savannah, JT, and Kody Shelton; and Ethan and Brianna Babcock.
