Terre Ellen Edginton Baker, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 16, 2011, at Lily & Syringa Homes in Idaho Falls of complications due to illness.
Terre was born October 9, 1936, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Charles Daniel "Dan" Edginton and Barbara Dayley Edginton. She grew up in Ashton, Roberts, and St. Anthony, and graduated from South Fremont High School. She also attended Ricks College, Glenn E. Clark Business School, and Wilma Hasting School of Modeling in Long Beach, California.
She married Ronald Glenn Baker April 22, 1957, in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 8, 1962. Terre worked as a secretary and taught modeling. She worked as a secretary for the INL, as the manager for the Country Club Mall, and in Social Services for Bonneville County. She co-owned the consignment store, “Hole in the Wall,” with her sister, Sally. She most recently worked for the Shelley School District.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a temple officiator for 24 years. She also served in the Primary, Young Women, and as a Sunday School teacher. Terre enjoyed sewing, reading, modeling, gardening, temple work, and visiting with her family.
Terre is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ronald, her mother, Barbara Edginton of Idaho Falls; a stepson, Jerry (Bronica) Baker of Packwood, WA; a daughter of the heart, Brenda (John) Summers of Ririe, ID; a brother, Jerry (Lila Bea) Thomas of Quartzite, AZ; three sisters, Bobbie (Duane) Rose of Idaho Falls, ID, Susan (Richard) Weigand of Grand Junction, CO, and Sally (James) D'Agostino of Fruita, CO; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Edginton.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS 11th Ward, 1235 Juniper, with Bishop Tom Barker officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
