Teresa Packer

Teresa Marie Johnson Packer, 39, of Iona, formerly of Ririe, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at her home after a long battle with various medical conditions. She was born November 7, 1972, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Timmie Lee Johnson and Diane Marie Summers Johnson. She grew up in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School. She continued her education to become a cosmetologist and graduated from beauty school in 1992. On July 5, 1995, she married Brian Trent Packer in Ririe. They have one son, Logan Brian Packer. On October 11, 2008, Teresa and Brian were thrilled to be sealed to Logan in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Teresa worked as a beautician and in 1996 became the proud owner of The Hair Station salon in Rigby. She retired in 2006 to be a stay-at-home mom to her baby and to pursue her enjoyment of journalism. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed writing, journalism, boating, and spending time with her family. Teresa loved making crafts and giving them away as soon as she was finished – she was happiest when she was giving to others. Her greatest joy was loving and raising the gift of her life, her son, Logan. Teresa is survived by Husband: Brian Packer of Iona, ID; Son: Logan Packer of Iona, ID; Parents: Tim and Diane Johnson of Ririe, ID; Brother: Jeff (Wendy) Johnson and their daughters, Brecca and Megan all of Rigby, ID; Grandmother: Dawn Summers of Ririe, ID; Mother-in-Law: Betty Packer of Las Vegas, NV; Father-in-Law: Trent (Sheryl) Packer of Rigby, ID; Sister-in-Law: Suzanne (Steve) Mickelsen of Boise, ID; Sister-in-Law: Andrea Packer of Iona, ID; and numerous aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, William E. Summers; her paternal grandparents, Narvel and Cleova Johnson; and her great grandparents, Raymond and Martha Streeper. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the Ririe LDS Perry Ward, 285 - 2nd West, with Bishop Alan Myler officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Wood East Side (963 South Ammon Road) and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
