Ted Frank Yamasaki, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 4, 2025, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Ted was born June 5, 1955, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Sam Hiroshi Yamasaki and Sally Akiko Shoda Yamasaki. He grew up and attended schools in the Osgood area where he attended Osgood Elementary and Central Junior High. Ted graduated from Skyline High School.
Ted worked as a farmer in the Osgood area. Ted was an accomplished mechanic, equipment operator, wood worker, enjoyed boating, and was an animal lover. He was a master slushie maker. His family was always so important to him, and he loved his grand nieces and nephews. The farm kitties and dogs will miss him greatly.
Ted is survived by his siblings, Gerry Yamasaki, Dick Yamasaki, and Susan (Steve) Gihring, all of Idaho Falls, ID; niece, Emilee (Kurt) Heilman of Idaho Falls, ID; nephew, Jeffrey (Hope) Gihring of Idaho Falls, ID; grandnieces and grandnephews, Alexis Heilman, Nash Heilman, Axel Heilman, Norah Gihring, Emilia Gihring, and Ethan Gihring.
He was preceded in death by his parents and dog, Boscoe.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4600 South Yellowstone Hwy. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Both visitations will be held at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Idaho Falls Youth Hockey Association at IFYHA, P.O. Box 3000, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83404, or the Snake River Animal Shelter at snakeriveranimalshelter.org .
