Ted Smith

Ted Leland Smith, 74, of Rigby, passed away peacefully May 23, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Ted was born October 6, 1941, in Menan, Idaho, to George Elwin Smith and Ida Viola Winder Smith. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby. On November 1, 1961, he married Beverly Ellen McLane in Menan, Idaho. To this union were born 4 children, Cindy, Charlotte, Teddie Rae, and Gary. Ted and Beverly made their home in Rigby, Idaho, where Ted worked in construction owning Ted Smith Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, 4 wheeling, wood working, and spending time with family and friends. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly Smith of Rigby, ID; daughter, Cindy (Larry) Rehaume of Austin, MN; daughter, Charlotte (Troy) Moore of Menan, ID; brother, Jay (Donna) Smith of Burley, ID; sister, Clara Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Dennis Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, George Elwin Smith; mother, Ida Violia Smith; daughter, Teddie Rae Smith; son, Gary Smith; four sisters, Mary, Connie, Bonnie Lambert and Emma Smith; and a brother, George Smith. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
