Ted Ramos

Teodoro Terrazas “Ted” Ramos, Jr., 80, passed away December 7, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was under the care of his family and Aspen Home Health and Hospice. He was born September 22, 1931, in San Jose Del Aura, Coahuila, Mexico, to Teodoro Ramos and Virginia Terrazas. He grew up in Spafford, Texas, and moved to Idaho Falls as a teenager. He has lived in the Idaho Falls, Osgood, Iona, and Ammon areas. He joined the United States Army and served during the Korean War as a Sergeant. He later attended trade school at Idaho State University. He married Mary Lena Martinez and together they raised their family of seven children. She passed away January 24, 2004 in Ammon. Ted worked as the transmission mechanic at Ellsworth Brothers Dodge in Idaho Falls for 40 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as Scout Master of Troop 124 and was a primary teacher. Ted enjoyed car racing, camping, and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially on the holidays and for Sunday dinners. Ted is survived by: Daughter, Juanita Ramos Burke of Iona, ID; Son, Rocky Martinez Ramos of Inkom, ID; Son, Tommy Dick Ramos of Logan, UT; Son, Patrick John Ramos of Fort Morgan, CO; Son, Victor Frank Ramos of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother, Robert Ramos of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother William Ramos of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Teresa Copeland of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Ofilia Tremblay of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Maria Ramos of Nampa, ID; 21 Grandchildren; and 16 Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lena; sons, Vedal Ramos and Theodore Terrazas Ramos; brother, Jose Ramos; and sisters Ramona Ramos, Virginia Barbara Ramos, and Carmen Bill. Funeral services will be held at 11;00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Ammon LDS 3rd Ward ( 2150 Avocet Drive) with Bishop Sid Beattie officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 12 at Wood East Side (963 South Ammon Road) and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

Tuesday December 13, 2011 , 11:00 a.m. at Ammon LDS 3rd Ward

The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Wood East Side (963 South Ammon Road) and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery.
