Ted Dean Christensen, 67, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away August 18, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer.
Ted Christensen was born to Joan and Percy Christensen on July 10,1955. He was one of five children. He grew up in Richfield, Murtah, Hansen, and Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated in 1973 from Hansen High School. He attended Idaho State University and received a bachelor's degree in Business. He loved to spend time with his parents, siblings, and extended family. They were very important to him.
Ted was a loving husband and father. In 1976, he met and fell in love with Kari Leigh Gentry at his birthday party. They were married that same year on December 15,1976 in Pocatello, ID. They were married for 46 years and had three children. Ted adored his wife and children and continued to give them advice and friendship throughout his life. He had three grandchildren and was such a fun and loving grandpa, going by "Paca" to his grandchildren. He was dearly loved by his friends and family.
Ted was a successful provider and a hardworking employee. In college, he worked at Partner's Steel. After college, he worked at Gate City Steel, both in Pocatello, ID. He worked for the INEL for 10 years and was recognized as one of their most successful employees. He then worked at Portage in Idaho Falls in business as a contracts manager. After this, he retired and spent time with his family.
Nature was Ted's church and he shared that love with his family. He was an avid hiker, hunter, fisherman and he loved the outdoors. He also loved baseball and watched many different games with his family. He enjoyed travel and was able to travel around the world with his wife and family members. He had an incredible sense of humor. He brought joy and laughter to his family and friends.
Ted is survived by his wife, Kari Gentry Christensen; daughter, Melissa (Brian) Marquez of Meridian, ID; son, Joshua Christensen of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kimberly (David) Reese; mother, Joan Fuger Christensen of Burley, ID; grandchildren, Grace Sharrah, Jaycsis Christensen, and Olivia Sharrah; brother, Dennis (Kris) Christensen of Rupert, ID; sister, Kelly Christensen of Burley, ID; and brother, Tim (Cari) Christensen of Pocatello, ID.
He is preceded in death by his father, Percy Samuel Christensen; grandparents; Percy and Lillian Christensen, George and Grace Fuger; and sister, Terry Christensen Funk.
The Family wishes to thank Teton Cancer Institute, the Mayo clinic, and One Source Home Health and Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022, in the Ammon Cemetery in Ammon, Idaho, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
