Taige Lee Johnson, 18, fell into the open arms of his Father on October 6, 2010. Born in Boise, Idaho, on December 12, 1991, to Sondra Dawn Johnson and Mark Allen Johnson. He was raised by his adoring Nana, Reverend Lydia Strong, and his grandpa, Dennis Craig Strong of Idaho Falls.
He was an All-American boy. During these formative years in Idaho Falls, he developed a love for soccer, basketball and baseball. With the gentle nudge of his Nana, his innate artistic flair blossomed into a passion for art design. He was good at all he did. He was discrete in his friendships which required, in the first instance, a sense of humor. He was witty with an engaging dose of dry humor. At an early age he developed an unexplainable passion for shoes. It was the shoes that gave him that confident swagger that was uniquely Taigey. He was a faithful friend of the down-trodden – an attribute inculcated by his Nana. He will be remembered and missed by all that loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, Taige is survived by his niece, Sadie Ann Austin, for whom he shared a very special love; his brother Derek Allen Austin of Idaho Falls; his Aunt Lola Swearengen of Idaho Falls; his Aunt Brenda Hansen of Sevirville, Tennessee; and, his Aunt Rochelle Evans of Denver, Colorado.
On Monday, October 11, 2010, a private service for family will be held early Monday afternoon followed by a gathering at 1776 Olympia, Idaho Falls, to greet family and friends.
Taige would have preferred that any flowers or gifts in his memory be given to Templeview Elementary in memory of Taige Johnson for the D.A.R.E. program.
