Tad Chaffin

Tad Michael Chaffin, 39, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 11, 2017.

Tad was born August 24, 1978, in Dillon, Montana, to Ken Chaffin and Dee Ann Hawkins. He grew up and attended schools in Dillon, MT and Milwaukie, Oregon and graduated from Rex Putnam High School in 1997. He also attended Montana State and Western Montana.

Tad was an avid outdoors-man and loved his family fiercely. He had a zest for life that was infectious to all that knew him. His smile will live in our hearts forever.

Tad is survived by his life partner, Roni Young of Idaho Falls; daughter, Taylor Lexis Chaffin of Gresham, OR; son, Tristian Macoy Chaffin of Idaho Falls, ID; father, Ken (Ann Marie) Chaffin of Idaho Falls, ID; mother, Dee A (Tom) Stewart of Milwaukie, OR; sister, Kelly D Grant of Waldorf, MD; sister, Kari Chaffin (Vidar) Hvidevold of Longmont, CO; sister, Courtney (Jeff) Stewart of Milwaukie, OR; brother, Scott Daniel (Sydney) Stewart of Gladstone, OR; grandfather, Jerry Hawkins; grandmother, Greta Chaffin.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Chaffin, and grandmother, Joan Hawkins.

A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Freeman Park at the band shell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to an education fund for his children at Key Bank, 2655 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83406.
