Tacyann Knowles Gray, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 16, 2016, at Teton Post Acute Care.
Tacyann was born June 23, 1931, in Los Angeles, California, to Seymour Young Knowles and Edith Rawson Knowles. She grew up and attended schools in Montello, Nevada and graduated from Ogden High School in Utah.
On June 25, 1950, she married Carl M. Gray in Ogden, Utah. To this union were born five children, Teresa, Richard, Leslie, Scott, and Jeanette. They were married for 35 years. Tacyann and Carl made their home in Shelley, Idaho, where Tacyann worked as a homemaker and mother. She also lived in Salmon and Idaho Falls.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a church mission in Salt Lake City in 1994, at the Family History Library. She enjoyed cooking, going to the cabin in Island Park, shopping, music, working in the temple, and traveling. The loves of her life were her children and grandchildren.
Tacyann is survived by her daughter, Teresa (David) Halley of Payson, UT; son Leslie (Roseann) Gray of Shelley, ID; son, Scott (Vickey) Gray of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jeanette (David) Phillips of Mesa, AZ; sister, Evelynn Cardon of St. George, UT; sister-in-law, LaDean Harmston of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter-in-law, Tammy Gray of Idaho Falls, ID; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Rick Gray, ex-husband, Carl Gray, sisters Bernice Jeffries and Beth Tomaselli, and brothers Jay and Robert Knowles.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Stonehaven LDS Ward, 2055 Coronado, with Bishop Nate Hunsaker officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Logan City Cemetery.
