Sylvia Machen - 01/22/2002 Sylvia Machen - 01/22/2002 SYLVIA MACHEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Sylvia Iantha Arehart Machen, 91, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died January 20, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. She was born April 10, 1910, at Plano, Idaho, to Joseph Howard Arehart and Lillie Aurelia Cundic Arehart. She grew up in Coltman and Fairview and attended schools there. She was a lifelong resident of the Idaho Falls area. She married George R. Machen December 21, 1951, at Blackfoot. She was a homemaker and mother. She also worked as a waitress for 43 years at LeBaron's, North Hiway Café, Doc's, and others. Her husband died April 17, 1989. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a visiting teacher. Surviving are:Daughter: Lois B. Bray, a daughter, Joy B. Cook, and a sister, Bonnie Jo Rich. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2002, at the Idaho Falls LDS Sage Lakes Ward, 1200 Dunbar, with Bishop LaMoyne Hyde officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402-4092.
