Sybil Powell

SYBIL POWELL IDAHO FALLS, ID - Sybil Yvonne Powell, 67, of Idaho Falls, died August 29, 2005, at her home following a long-term illness. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. She was born October 31, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Vincent Clair Kelsey and Juanita Alberta Malcom Kelsey. The family moved to Shelley, where she attended elementary school, then to Idaho Falls, where she attended Idaho Falls High. She married Richard Hall Powell October 7, 1954, in Idaho Falls. He preceded her in death October 19, 2001. She worked as a waitress in addition to raising five sons. She enjoyed golfing, cross-country skiing, playing bridge and gardening. Survivors include: Son: Richard M. (Jamie) Powell, WA Son: David V. Powell, Idaho Falls Son: Jeffery L. Powell, Idaho Falls Son: Leonard V. (Brenda) Powell, Idaho Falls Son: Keith A. Powell, Idaho Falls Brother: Stacey (Mary Jane) Kelsey, Lewisville, ID Sister: Ruth (Steve) Catalano, AK 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hands of Hope Hospice in Idaho Falls. Memorial Services will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, September 1, 2005, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends beginning at 11 a.m. at the cemetery. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
