SVEA GRANGE Click here to view Svea's Video Tribute IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Svea Marie Grange, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Mom was born July 9, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Knut and Ester Johnson. She graduated from Shelley High School, where she met her husband, Rex Grange, and they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 9, 1946. They returned to live in Shelley to work with the Grange Family Dairy. Mom truly loved meeting new people which made her very successful in the field of sales, which she did most of her life. She worked at Hudson Shoes and the American Fur Company in downtown Idaho Falls and she spent many years selling for the Idaho Falls Monument Company. She and Dad then opened RainSoft Water Conditioning and, of course, Mom did the elling. Culligan Water Conditioning then purchased RainSoft and Mom became the “Culligan Gal”. She was very proud to be honored by Culligan USA with the Presidents Sales Award numerous times. After retiring, Mom took up oil painting which she really enjoyed. She took great pride in keeping her home and yard in tip top shape and did the same at her cabin at McCrea’s Ranch in Island Park. She loved to spend the summers at the cabin and was happiest when friends and family were there. She loved them all. She is survived by her children: Larry (Lorna Buttars) Grange of Idaho Falls, Greg (Barbara) Grange of Chubbuck, Idaho, and Shawna (Craig) Jenkins of Idaho Falls; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma Johnson of Idaho Falls and Greta Rhine of Boise. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Rolland. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with The Reverend Dr. Dennis Falasco officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. --------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Rachel Stanley loonvideo@mac.com I was saddened to read of Svea's death in Wednesday's paper. She was always a bright spot for me and for others. I counted on the regularity of her appearances along the river on those occasions where the food venders were "centered" along Memorial. We're in Canada this weekend ...or I would choose to be at the church with you for the celebration of a life in which I shared some beautiful moments. Danette Frederiksen danikilgore@yahoo.com May you all find comfort in the love of family and friends and in the good memories of Svea. I will be thinking of you on Saturday. Svea was a fun friend for my dad, Horace, and Uncle Howard. I know she will be greatly missed and I count it joy to have known her. Love and prayers for you all. Torbjorn Johansson torena@telia.com Staying with Svea in 2003 was one of the best times in my life. I really felt loved and it was like having an American mother. Sincerely, Genie Newman Eileen Thonssen etehthonssen@cableone.net My dad, Steve Newman, worked at Culligan with Rex, Svea, and Craig. I was fairly young when they were all there, but I do remember the Culligan family. I remember Svea's smile and laugh and I am so sorry to hear of her death. Since July, I have had mom here in Pocatello at a Care and Rehab center so we will not be able to attend Svea's funeral. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I remember the wonderful tribute that Craig organized of a procession of Culligan trucks when my dad died. I'm sure Svea's funeral will be a beautiful celebration of her life as well. Sincerely, Eileen (Newman) Thonssen Toni & Art Gimpel gimpel@cableone.net We both are sad when we learned the news of Svea's death.
